Revetment Reinforcement of Daya River, Taichung, Taiwan.
The residential neighborhood near the Daya river was facing the impending problem of flooding in the coming rainy season since the narrow draining water cross section of Daya River was unable to discharge the runoff and the existing revetment protection was insufficient to protect the residence from the flood. To solve the problem, the water cross section was excavated, and the revetment was reinforced with riparian tanks. The hollow part of the tank was filled with soil bags and then vegetated. Now the draining water cross section of Daya River is able to discharge the runoff even in the torrential rain. The riverside is filled with grass and has become a recreational place for the residence nearby.
